Happy Memorial Day

Memorial Day honors all who have died while serving in the United States military. It is a day set aside to remember and reflect on the enormous sacrifices made by these brave men and women, whose courage has safeguarded the freedoms we enjoy today. Their service, and the losses borne by their families, are woven into the fabric of our nation’s history and identity.

Originally known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day began in the years following the Civil War, when communities across the country gathered to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers with flowers and flags. From 1868 to 1970, it was observed each year on May 30th, a solemn marker of respect and remembrance. In 1971, Memorial Day became an official federal holiday, moving to the last Monday in May to allow families a dedicated time to pause, gather, and honor those who gave their lives in service.

It is also important to distinguish Memorial Day from Veterans Day, another deeply meaningful observance. Veterans Day recognizes and celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, living and deceased. It was originally known as Armistice Day, marking the formal end of World War I at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, when the armistice with Germany took effect. Armistice Day was officially changed to Veterans Day in 1954 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. For a brief period, from 1971 to 1974, Veterans Day was observed on the fourth Monday in October following a bill passed by Congress. In 1975, President Gerald R. Ford restored the observance to November 11th, honoring the date’s profound historical significance.

On Memorial Day, we take a quiet, deliberate moment to honor and remember the fallen heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. This day stands as a poignant reminder of the bravery, dedication, and selflessness of those who served in the armed forces and did not return home. We offer our heartfelt gratitude to these courageous individuals and to their families and loved ones, who have endured unimaginable loss and continue to carry their memory forward.

As we gather with friends and family this Memorial Day Weekend—whether attending ceremonies, visiting memorials, or simply spending time together—let us also keep in mind those in our own communities and workplaces who may be remembering someone they lost in service to our country. Their stories and sacrifices resonate deeply, reminding us of the values of duty, honor, and commitment that we hold dear.

This Memorial Day, may we express our appreciation not only for those who gave their lives, but also for those they left behind. To all the fallen heroes, we say thank you: your courage, your sacrifice, and your legacy continue to inspire us every day.

2025 W-2 Tax Information

As 2025 has now come to a close, we know many of you are anxiously awaiting your W-2 & 1095C in order to begin your tax filing process.

Current employees are NOW able to access their W-2 on-line through the FirstFleet portal & Workday. Your 1095C form will be available at a later date. This process is very simple to follow using the video attached below. These forms have also been mailed to the home address on file should you prefer a paper copy.

We hope you find this method of retrieval helpful in your tax filing process.

Open Enrollment is Here! You don’t want to miss this opportunity to make changes, review your core and voluntary benefit options for 2026 and update your spouse & beneficiary information. Once again, Open enrollment is passive this year. This means that if you like your current benefit elections as they are, you don’t have to take any action. The only exception would be that you are required to elect a new flexible spending account every year due to IRS Regulations. However, if you would like to make changes to your current elections or opt out of coverage you will need take action following the instructions below. Don’t forget…Open Enrollment is the only time you can make changes to your current benefits unless you experience a Life Event.

To view your existing benefits or make changes visit firstfleetbenefits.com where you can access the Workday system to complete your elections during this Open Enrollment which ends October 31^st.

This new version of the application is packed full of features and tools to help streamline your day and give our drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, customers and back office support teams ready access to helpful information.

With any new release of software we anticipate a few hiccups along the way, but we thank you for embracing the FirstFleet Core Value of Embracing Change as a Reality of Progress. Don't Wait! Update Your Benefits Today!

Don’t Wait! There are only 2 days left to make changes to your current benefits and dependents for 2025, unless you have a Life Event. If you don’t need to make any changes to your benefits, you don’t have to do anything. Your benefits will simply rollover, uninterrupted into the new year. The only exception is to your Flexible Spending Account.

Enrollment is Easy!

Go to firstfleetbenefits.com to access your self-service portal and follow the steps to enroll.
For questions call 1-800-908-1796 by this Friday from 9am to 5pm CST. A Benefit Specialist will be available to answer questions, review plan information and assist you with changes.

Also, don’t forget! If you add new dependents during this year’s Open Enrollment look for communication from Alight, our Dependent Verification partner, that will be arriving to your home mailbox containing instructions on how you can verify any new dependents you may have added to your benefits during both this year and last year’s open enrollment period.

We hope by now you have had the opportunity to visit our online information and enrollment page. Don’t forget, October 31st will be your last opportunity to make changes to your current benefits for you and your dependents unless you have a Life Event. If you don’t need to make any changes to your current benefits, there is nothing for you to do. Your benefits will simply rollover, uninterrupted into the new year. The only exception is to your Flexible Spending Account. If you want a Flexible Spending account again in 2025 you will need to make that election.

2. Meet with a Benefit Specialist who can assist with enrollment and feel free to invite your spouse. Simply call (800) 908-1796 any time during the Open Enrollment period from 9am to 5pm CST.

Open Enrollment is in Motion! We encourage you to visit our online information and enrollment page between now and October 31, 2024. You will find your New Benefits Highlight Guide for 2024 that contains important information and changes for 2025. You will want to check out the NEW Accident, Hospital and Critical Illness coverages being offered by Voya and ensure your beneficiary information is up to date!

Enrollment is Easy!

Go to firstfleetbenefits.com to access your Workday self-service portal and follow the steps to enroll.
Meet with a Benefit Specialist virtually at our open enrollment call center at 1-800-908-1796, Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm CST during this Open Enrollment period. Invite your Spouse!

If you do not make any changes to your coverage your current benefits will simply rollover uninterrupted into 2025. The only exception would be if you have a Flexible Spending Account. If you want a Flexible Spending Account again in 2025, you will have to elect a new amount due to IRS regulations. Whatever you decide, we encourage you to take the time to review all of the information in the days ahead and then make great choices.

Get Ready! Open Enrollment for Benefit elections begins today! You don’t want to miss this opportunity to make changes, review your core and voluntary benefit options for 2025 and update your beneficiaries. Plus! There are several new benefit enhancements for 2025. Once again, Open enrollment is passive. This means that if you currently have benefits you don’t have to re-enroll during Open Enrollment unless you are making changes to your current elections or opting out of coverage. The only exception would be that you are required to elect a new Flexible Spending Account(FSA) every year due to IRS Regulations. Don’t forget...Open Enrollment is the only time you can make changes to your current benefits unless you experience a Life Event.

You can visit firstfleetbenefits.com to begin reviewing your Benefit Highlights Guide for the next plan year and access the Workday system to complete your elections during this Open Enrollment period.

We wanted to take this time in the spirit of togetherness and celebration to reach out and wish you all a wonderful July 4th holiday. This is a special day to come together and appreciate the freedoms we hold dear.
